Was All America in the steeple chase while at Msgr Farrell HS. His best time was
9:27.0, a Staten Island record which he held from 1977-1983 until it was broken
by the great Charlie Marsala.
Tom coached at St Joseph-by-the-Sea and Msgr Farrell High Schools. He has
coached relay teams that ran bests of 3:19.12, 7:43.06 and 10:09.38 DMR, all SI
records. His Farrell teams have won several City and numerous Island
championships and many consecutive Mayor's Cups.
