Caitlin Tormey was a middle distance runner during her four-year career at
Princeton University, recording PRs of 2:14.92 (800m) and 4:39.10 (1500m). She
made her marathon debut in New York City in 2006, and was less than 90 seconds
off the Olympic Trials "B" standard. Two months later she ran a 3+ minute PR in
Houston, and qualified for the Olympic Trials. Her perfect record of marathon PR's continued her third time out, as she improved to 2:43:30 at the 2007 ING New
York City Marathon, placing 13th. At the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials on April
20 in Boston, she placed 23rd among the very best of the country’s women
marathoners in a time of 2:40:29.
