Out of St. Joseph by the Sea HS, Alysen went on to become D-III star at
Washington and Lee in basketball and track. She was the 2006 outdoor Old
Dominion Athletic Conference champion in the high jump and javelin.
Playing
starting guard on the W&L basketball team. in her senior season, she recorded a
career best 16 rebounds in a game.
When only a freshman she took second place in
in the javelin the ODAC championship meet . Her best day came at the 2007
conference outdoor champs where she won the high jump and the javelin.
