SI Track Running and Community
Two months ago NIKE marketing was looking to sponsor local high school teams in the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) from New York City. They picked one men s team and one womem’s team. They called Coach Tringali, who is no stranger to accolades, to notify him that Notre Dame Academy Track Team was selected. One of the reasons they choose Notre Dame is because of their long tradition of success in Track and Field in the past 30 years under the tutelage of coach Tringali. Notre Dame is also ranked as the first NYC team in the CHSAA by TullyRunners. TullyRunners is a well-known ranking system for high runners in New York State Recently NIKE invited the Notre Dame Varsity squad to their store in the Bronx, which was near the famous cross-country coarse Van Cortlandt Park. They invited the team to unveil the new uniforms they had designed for them. NIKE bussed the girls from Notre Dame to the Bronx. They gave the girls a tour of the store and had a slew of events ready for them. The event would not be complete without a run in the park and refreshments after their run. The girls had a great time adding to the many memories they ve had at Notre Dame Academy High School.
